Most oral surgeons undergo about four to six years of additional training in comparison to a general dentist. They are extensively knowledgeable in a broad range of conditions and are equipped with advanced surgical skills to address these issues.
Due to their extensive training, oral surgeons know the best techniques to not only ensure an optimal outcome but also minimize your risk of complications. Their surgical skill affords them the ability to make informed decisions when planning and performing your treatment for incredibly safe, high-quality care.
These distinctions are especially important for patients who have experienced facial injuries. Oral surgeons are typically capable of performing reconstructive and plastic surgeries to help restore your appearance after an accident.
